Resumen

The objective of this research was to design and propose a business reclassification model for the Peruvian context, based on a composite index that includes economic, digital, technological, and organizational dimensions, as well as positioning, considering current Industry 5.0 trends. This is a propositional study with a non-experimental design, which employed a methodology of document review, literature review, and normative analysis. In addition, mixed techniques were used to construct the indicators. The proposed Composite Business Reclassification Index (CBRI) allows for the identification of the level of digital maturity, organizational efficiency, and business competitive positioning, overcoming the shortcomings of the current approach focused exclusively on sales and labor income. The main limitation of the study is its lack of empirical validation or the lack of validation by business and economic experts. However, the proposed model represents an original contribution by offering a business classification more consistent with current trends, with a potential impact on public policymaking. Therefore, its use is recommended to validate its usefulness for both business management and economic development.
